TVC Veteran Career Advisor (VCA) and Army veteran Dennis Aaron is committed to helping veterans find jobs. He works with them to hone job search skills and in getting interviews. He listens to their disappointment when interviews don’t land jobs. Beyond the responsibilities of his own work, he serves on the advisory board of the Denton County Veterans Coalition and collaborates with a multitude of organizations in his area to improve supportive services.

“Because of his community leadership, Aaron is extremely well respected within the veteran community as a true team player and someone who can be counted on to always puts the mission first,” said James Kashka, TVC Employment Services North District Veteran Employer Liaison and also an Army veteran.  “His leadership style is one of lead by example and he sets the standard for others to emulate.”

In recognition of this, Aaron has been honored with a TVC Excellence Award.

“Dennis listens intently to the needs of his veteran clients. He has a keen ability to realize when a veteran needs help just getting through the day or allowing someone to vent after a failed job interview,” said Kashka, who nominated Aaron for the award. “He is able to individualize and adapt his services based on his knowledge of his job and those of his veteran service organization community partners.”

Aaron’s team approach with community partners resulted in his being nominated to and serving on the Denton County Veterans Coalition advisory board.  He works closely with partner agencies that assist in supportive services in his area.  These include: American Job Center, Denton County Veteran Service Office, United Way of Denton County-Veteran Navigator program, Catholic Charities, Military Veteran Peer Network, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War along with various other veteran employers and service providers.

“Dennis is a strong advocate of the ‘it takes a village’ approach to helping veterans in need,” said Kashka.

Congratulations Dennis.
