Veteran-Owned Businesses
Starting January 1, 2026, the Veteran Verification Letter benefit becomes permanent under Texas Senate Bill 938.
The legislation provides significant advantages for veteran entrepreneurs: The benefit waives certain filing fees for new veteran-owned business entities and the Texas Franchise Tax for a specified period.
Will your business qualify? If you answer “Yes” to these questions, it may:
- Will this entity be 100% veteran-owned (can be one or more veteran owners)?
- Is/Are the veteran business owner(s) honorably discharged from active military duty, from any branch of the United States Military, National Guard, or Reserves?
- Was this entity formed on or after January 1, 2022?
