The Texas Veterans Commission Veteran Entrepreneur Department created the Veteran-Owned Business (VOB) Certificate and Logo in 2019 to provide a credible and reliable verifying authority that would ensure valid documentation exists of a business’s veteran ownership and control for marketing purposes, allowing those with the verification to market their business as veteran-owned.
The VOB Logo became a registered trademark on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
Many small veteran-owned businesses want to show clients they are owned and operated by honorable discharged veteran(s).
Obtaining the Entrepreneur Department VOB Certificate and Logo prepares the Veteran-Owned Business for state and federal contracting certification process through the Small Business Administration (SBA).
