Veteran Overview

I am proud of my military service because it was so incredibly unpopular to volunteer and be in the Army during the height of the anti-war movement against the war in Vietnam. I was a "candy-striper" student nurse at 16 and graduated from Boston College School of Nursing with a BS in nursing and became both a commissioned Army officer and registered nurse in 1973. Although my active duty service was cut short by marriage to another Army officer and pregnancy, I continued to serve as an Army wife, Red Cross Volunteer nurse in Germany and Fort Sill and then became an Army Civilian nurse and for 26 years at Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point, NY. I also am a founding member of the Women's Military Service Memorial. God bless America, home of the Brave.
