Veteran Overview

I'm proud of my military service in the US Army; my first 8 years was as an enlisted woman, reaching the rank of SGT in the Signal Corps. The GI Bill funded my college education to become a Registered Nurse & then I received a commission into the Army Nurse Corps, first in the Army Reserves, then joining active duty again as a 2nd LT. I served alongside many dedicated soldiers & mentored younger/inexperienced nurses for 22 years as an officer, was funded for graduate school, spent one year serving in Iraq, & finally retired after 30 years of service. I was fortunate to meet so many talented & lifelong women friends & colleagues in the Army, & have wonderful memories of work, travel & enjoying life while I served others.
