Rank: SGT (Ret.)
As I watched the tv screen at my eye doctors office on 9/11, I was in complete confusion. As reality sank in I started to drive back to my house and felt like my country had been slapped in the face. Already being a veteran of The Gulf War ten years prior, this new war was nothing to fear. It was something that just had to be done. Our America was not going to sit idly by and let foreigners hurt her. Two years later when the smoke cleared and we knew what we were up against I re-enlisted. Then a mother of three boys I had to learn to balance duty to my country and my beautiful family. Long story short, I retired from the Army in 2017. My boys are healthy and all grown up and married. God Bless America, God Bless Texas and my beautiful family.
