Ervey “Erv” Leos Jr. retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Master Sergeant after serving more than 20 years. During this time, he developed his leadership and operations management experience through multiple positions. He managed combat operations, military intelligence, physical security, and personnel for military organizations. He served two combat tours in Iraq and various deployments in Southwest Asia. He earned two bronze stars and the combat action badge along with various other military awards. Erv graduated from Advanced Leadership Training, and the U.S. Army Recruiting School.
He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior College. He began his post military career at the IRS then transitioned into case manager work at an Austin area non-profit helping Veterans find employment where he found his calling as a veteran helping veterans and their families. Erv is certified as an Offender Employment Specialist.
He began his career with the Texas Veterans Commission and the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance in 2014 as a Grant Officer and soon became a Compliance Officer and the Highly Rural Transportation Grant Officer. A year later he became the Lead Grant Officer that evolved into the Grants Program Supervisor position. In 2023, Erv was promoted to the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance Operations Manager. He is a certified Grant Manager, Pass-Through Track, and has completed the Leadership Series and the Senior Management Development course with the Governor’s Center for Management Development.
