Chuck Wright was appointed to the Texas Veterans Commission in March 2024 by Governor Greg Abbott.
He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio earning a degree in Economics. While at UTSA, he served on student government and became UTSA’s 1st Marine Commissioned officer. He would earn his wings as a CH 46 helicopter pilot and would complete two WESTPAC deployments.
After serving as a Marine, Chuck returned to Texas and founded the retirement income planning firm, Lone Star Wealth Strategies.
Serving veterans has become his primary passion. He served for eight years with the TVC’s Fund for Veteran Assistance Program where he was the Vice Chair. Additionally, he served as a board member of the DFW USO Advisory Board and chaired the Frisco Gold Star Family Monument program through the Woody Williams Foundation. On November 10, 2016, he was recognized by Congressman Michael Burgess, with his Congressional Veteran Commendation Award.
Chuck is also a 6th and 7th generation Texan tracing his roots directly to one of Austin’s Old 300 and is a Son of the Texas Republic. He and his wife Michelle make their home in Frisco with their son, Travis.
