A Collin County Army veteran initially filed her claim with the VA for trauma related conditions in June 2017 while living in California. In just a couple of months, her claim was denied. Years later, in 2025, she connected with the TVC Claims Department for assistance.
Working with TVC Claims Benefits Advisors (CBAs), extensive documentation was painstakingly compiled to support her claim for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to Military Sexual Trauma. With assistance from TVC CBAs, she went from zero service connection to a 70% disability rating in July 2026. The VA awarded her more than $170,200 in retro pay and monthly compensation of more than $1,800.
It all started by her scheduling a phone appointment through the TVC Claims webpage. She first met with TVC CBA with Jaimes Sigifredo in May 2025, who completed her Intent to File with the VA. Later, on March 11, 2026, the veteran had a phone appointment with CBA Willie Wison and work for her to reopen her claim began. This included gathering evidence and documentation. By May 14, they submitted the claim with new and relevant information.
On July 27, 2026, VA issued a decision granting service connection and an award retroactive to the initial claim that was filed June 23, 2017 due to a clear and unmistakable error. As a result, the veteran received more than $170,200 retro compensation along with ongoing monthly compensation.
“I serve every veteran with my whole heart,” said Wilson. “I love being able to advise and help make a positive impact in their lives.”
Wilson continues to work with the veteran on further claims and increasing her disability rating.
