Dr. Eddie Arámbula is a Pat Tillman Scholar, independent researcher, and combat veteran who served in both the U.S. Army and Coast Guard, achieving the rank of E-5. Motivated by the events of 9/11, his military service led to a deployment in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom II—experiences that shaped his enduring commitment to supporting veterans in their transition to civilian life. He holds a Ph.D. in Education and Community Leadership from Texas State University, where his research focused on trauma and the social integration of U.S. military veterans. He also earned a Master of Business for Veterans and a Master’s in Teaching from the University of Southern California. Dr. Arámbula is dedicated to public pedagogy, school improvement, and community engagement. He is passionate about enhancing school safety and building bridges between military and civilian communities through dialogue and storytelling. He is the founder of the Journal of Interactive Veteran Experiences.

Elizabeth Estabrooks, MSW is a Peacetime Cold War Veteran of the United States Army and holds a Bachelor of Science in Gender Studies and Political Science from Eastern Oregon University, and a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Elizabeth served as the Oregon Woman Veterans Coordinator with the Department of Veterans Affairs where she brought decades of knowledge and experience gained from her career working on Women Veteran topics.
