I am proud of my military service because it taught me resilency, tenacity, and empowered me to bring a voice to injustice even if it's not the popular choice. After my years in the service I was provided an opportunity to continue my education in Social Work and advocate for other veterans who are dealing with mental health issues or transitioning out of the military and need extra support.
