I am proud of my military service because it allowed me to be a part of something bigger than myself when I had no idea who I was or wanted to be. They were my family when I felt alone and my source of strength and resilience in my times of weakness. In return I get free education and lifelong benefits from my country. Not to mention friends across the world, and life experiences like no other.
